KYC Policy
Girvi.in (“we”, “us”, “our”) may collect and verify Know Your Customer (“KYC”) information to enable safe transactions, reduce fraud, and support compliance for services such as gold/silver sales (through partner shops) and loan support workflows.
1) Purpose of KYC
- Confirm customer identity and prevent impersonation/fraud.
- Support safe high-value transactions (gold/silver, ornaments, and related services).
- Maintain accurate records for service support, partner coordination, and dispute handling.
- Comply with applicable legal/regulatory requirements where relevant.
2) Who needs to complete KYC
- Customers performing certain transactions or crossing defined value thresholds.
- Customers requesting specific services that require identity verification.
- Partner shops/vendors onboarding to Girvi.in (business KYC / verification).
- Any user flagged for risk checks (mismatch, suspicious activity, repeated failures).
3) Documents we may request
Depending on transaction type and risk level, we may request one or more of:
- Identity proof: Aadhaar (masked allowed), Passport, Voter ID, Driving License.
- PAN card (especially for high-value transactions where required).
- Address proof: utility bill, bank statement, rent agreement, etc. (where needed).
- Photo / selfie verification (to confirm liveness in certain cases).
- Bank details for refunds/payouts (cancelled orders, returns, etc.).
- Business documents for partner shops: GSTIN, shop license, address proof, bank details, authorized signatory ID.
4) Verification methods
- Manual verification by our operations/support team or partner shop staff.
- Document validation checks (readability, authenticity, consistency).
- Contact verification (OTP/email/phone confirmation where used).
- Address verification (where required) via documents or partner confirmation.
- Risk scoring / pattern checks (repeat attempts, mismatched details, unusual activity).
5) Consent & authorization
- By submitting KYC details, you confirm the information is accurate and you are authorized to share it.
- You consent to verification for fraud prevention and service processing.
- You may be required to update KYC if details change (name, address, mobile, etc.).
6) How we use KYC data
- To verify identity and enable/continue certain services.
- To prevent fraud and investigate suspicious activity.
- To handle disputes, returns/refunds, and transaction confirmations.
- To support partner shop workflows (only on need-to-know basis).
7) Data sharing
We may share limited KYC information only when necessary:
- With authorized partner shops to complete order verification, delivery, returns/refunds, or compliance checks.
- With service providers involved in verification or communications (only the minimum required).
- With legal/regulatory authorities when required by law.
8) Storage, security & access control
- KYC documents are stored securely with restricted access.
- Access is limited to trained staff/partners who require it for processing.
- We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect data from unauthorized access.
- We may mask or redact sensitive fields where feasible.
9) Retention (how long we keep KYC)
- We retain KYC data for as long as needed for service delivery, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
- After retention period, we securely delete or anonymize data where feasible.
- Some records may be kept longer if required by law or for audit/security reasons.
10) Rejection, suspension & re-KYC
- KYC may be rejected if documents are unclear, inconsistent, expired, or suspected to be invalid.
- We may suspend certain services until KYC is completed or corrected.
- We may request re-KYC for high-risk activity, large transactions, or periodic refresh.
11) Customer rights
- You can request correction of your KYC data if inaccurate (subject to verification).
- You may request access/update information per our Privacy Policy.
- Deletion requests may be limited by retention/legal obligations.
12) Fraud prevention & prohibited activity
- Submitting someone else’s documents without authorization is prohibited.
- Attempting to manipulate verification or using forged documents may result in account blocking and legal action.
- Repeated suspicious behavior may trigger enhanced verification and transaction limits.
13) Policy updates
We may update this KYC Policy as operations or requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
